Triptic ("Triptic", "we", "us") plans trips through an AI chat interface. This page explains what information we collect when you use triptic.travel, why we collect it, and who we share it with in order to build your itinerary.
Using Triptic is also covered by our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
Account information. If you sign in, we use Firebase Authentication's "Sign in with Google" flow, which shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We never see or store your Google password.
Trip and chat content. Destinations, dates, travelers, budget, preferences and anything else you type into the planning chat, plus the itinerary items, bookings checklist and notes it produces.
Anonymous planning. You can plan a trip without an account. An anonymous trip is identified only by a random id kept in your browser; if you later sign in, that trip can be claimed onto your account.
Usage data. Basic product analytics (pages viewed, features used) so we can tell what is and is not working.
How we use it
- To run the planning chat and turn what you tell it into a day-by-day itinerary
- To save and sync your trips across sessions once you sign in
- To look up flights, hotels, places and directions for the itinerary it builds you
- To diagnose bugs and improve the product
Who we share it with
Triptic sends the minimum information each of these needs to do its job:
- Google / Firebase - authentication, so you can sign in and access your trips from any device
- OpenRouter - the language model that powers the planning chat receives your messages and trip details in order to generate a reply and build the itinerary
- Mapbox, Foursquare, Google Places and OpenStreetMap - map rendering and place lookups (names, coordinates, photos) for the destinations you mention
- LiteAPI (Nuitée) - flight search (route, dates, passenger counts, and a country code for pricing) and hotel search (coordinates, dates, occupancy, and guest nationality); no personal details are sent
- PostHog - product analytics, so we can see how the product is actually used
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
Data storage and security
Trip and account data is stored in a managed MongoDB database. We use industry-standard measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your choices
You can delete a trip at any time from within the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.
Children's privacy
Triptic is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Triptic after a change means you accept the updated policy.
